Expressive Media will be proudly visiting The Sharp Project – home to some of Manchester’s most inspiring creative companies – on Monday 3rd November 2014 for the Behance Portfolio Review week. Attending a Portfolio Review provides you with a great opportunity to present and get feedback on your work, hear from experienced professionals, and meet your local creative community in a welcoming environment.
I have been a part of the professional design community BeHance for a couple of years now and they have launched a fantastic initiative, for designers, by designers. The Behance Portfolio Review Week. This gives people like me the chance to meet fellow creatives to share and discuss our portfolios, get great advice, network and learn. A wonderful creative Jonny Evans has taken the responsibility of hosting the Portfolio Review Week which is being kindly sponsored by Degree 53.
The event will also be graced with the presence of renowned designer & Artist Brendan Dawes. Brendan’s work has been featured in numerous journals including idN, Creative Review, MacUser, Computer Arts, Create, Wired, Eye, The Guardian, The Times, Communications Arts and was interviewed by Computer Arts in December 2008 for their “Design Icon” series. He truly is a world class designer and speaker, and I’m incredibly excited that he’ll be visiting the project!
I am really nervous about visiting the event, yet super excited to be around people who have as much passion for design as I do! I don’t get to speak regularly with other designers except for on social networks so this will be the ideal time to be around people on my wavelength, people who understand how every pixel counts, people who understand how design can change lives and if not that, it can certainly enhance it, this is an opportunity that will reinforce, why I love what I do, Design!Click here for more info on the event
